1. Better Energy Warmer Homes (BEWH)
Insulate your home at no Cost
This nationwide scheme delivers free energy efficiency improvements to the homes of people who are in receipt of certain welfare payments.
Is it for you?
You own your own home. Your home was built before 2006 and you are in receipt of specific social welfare payments
Do I qualify?
You must be in receipt of one of the following:
- Fuel Allowance as part of the National Fuel Scheme
- Job seekers allowance for over six months and with children under 7 years of age
- Working Family Payment
- One-Parent Family Payment
- Domiciliary Care Allowance
- Carers Allowance and live with the person you are caring for

2. Better Energy Homes
SEAI offer a wide range of grants for home energy upgrades which will help you upgrade your home, make it warmer and more energy efficient and cheaper to heat.
Is it for you?
Your home was built and occupied before 2006 to receive grants for Insulation & Heating controls.
Your home was built and occupied before 2011 to receive grants for Heat Pump Systems & Solar Thermal.

3. Deep retrofit Programme
Are you upgrading your home to an A-rating?
Housing continues to pose one of the greatest energy efficiency challenges in Ireland. A considerable portion of older housing performs poorly when compared with those built to the current standards. The SEAI have created the Deep Retrofit Pilot programme to tackle this challenge.
Is it for you?
You own your home, you are doing a major renovation of your home and want to significantly improve the energy rating.
Your home is a C3 rating or worse.
What’s Available?
- 50% grant towards the cost of energy upgrade works.
- A whole home solution where you are achieving a BER A- rating. Measures include.
- Attic, wall and floor insulation.
- High performance windows.
- Renewable heating systems.
- Mechanical ventilation systems
